ORF launches a new press portal with DC Technologies

One Plus one equals four.

Austrian Broadcasting (ORF) with its new online press portal – presse.orf.at – launched on 07.27.09, has merged its two existing information services presse.orf.at and foto.orf.at into a unique new service. Digital Collections has created a high-end press portal with numerous new functions for the generation and retrieval of press information. It will make the work of journalists reporting on the ORF program and/or needing information on the ORF organization simpler and more efficient.

One Source.
The system enables program information, press releases and photos to be intelligently linked, providing editorial teams with a clear overview at the click of the mouse. Furthermore, the system is able to automatically check whether there are related text or visuals already linked to the program information. This considerably reduces the amount of work for editors regarding recurring program segments such as repeats or series. This integration of the ORF program planning ensures that editorial teams always receive the latest version of programming information even if there is a change to the program. In addition, selected programs and topics can be showcased on the start page at the editorial team's discretion.

The ORF press portal offers visiting journalists a simplified way to research and manage (using a full-text search) information on around 20,000 program listings as well about 10,000 visuals available in various formats. Furthermore, visuals will now be available to download in various formats.

ORF and Digital Collections, with the DC5-System as the initial system, can now offer a high-end press portal combining modern usability and user loyalty with ease of use and simple administration
We are looking forward to a successful project and great feedback!
